Overview
The Dutch tracker records nationwide support for a large and changing set of parties. Because the electoral system is highly proportional, national vote intention is especially informative about broad strength, but it still does not determine coalition formation or a final government.
Electoral system context
Seats in the House of Representatives are allocated proportionally across a national vote with candidate preference rules. The effective entry point is low compared with many systems, which encourages a fragmented field and makes small reported values electorally meaningful without guaranteeing a seat.
Party and bloc rationale
The local balance groups GL–PvdA, SP and PvdD against VVD, PVV, JA21, FvD and SGP. D66, CDA, CU, NSC, BBB, DENK, Volt and others remain outside rather than being forced into a binary. The measure is local navigation, not an official or international ranking.
Polling limitations
New parties, mergers and tactical alliances can interrupt series, while pollsters differ in how they present very small parties and allocate undecided respondents. Coalition possibilities depend on parliamentary arithmetic and negotiation, neither of which is predicted by the trend line or local balance.
