Electoral system context
Italy elects legislators through a mixed system combining single-member contests with proportional multi-member allocation. Coalitions, candidate nominations, thresholds and the geographic distribution of support all affect seats, so national party percentages cannot be read as a complete result projection.
Party and bloc rationale
The local balance groups PD, M5S and AVS against FdI, Lega and Forza Italia for the current sourced period. Azione, Italia Viva and others stay outside. This reflects a practical campaign grouping for navigation and is neither an official classification nor a claim that every member is equivalent.
Polling limitations
Italian parties, alliances and labels can change quickly, and pollsters may publish both party and coalition scenarios with different assumptions. The archive keeps only comparable nationwide party-vote rows, records source gaps and avoids carrying an old classification into a period without a reviewed definition.
